Schedules as listed in Nuitée's fare data for the dates we searched; departure times are Toronto local time. We don't list arrival times because some Cabo arrival times in the data were an hour off on winter dates, so confirm them when you book.
Two things to watch on connections. Many cheap connecting itineraries in the data were long: the median WestJet connection via Calgary took over 18 hours. And a US connection (Houston, Chicago, Dallas, Charlotte, Denver) means clearing US customs and security on the way, while Porter via Edmonton or WestJet via Calgary stays in Canada until you land in Mexico.
Baggage by fare
The two nonstop airlines bundle bags differently. Porter's Basic fare ($341 on November 21) includes a carry-on but no checked bag; Standard was $406 and Flexible, with a checked bag, $482. Air Canada's Basic ($375 on January 11) includes neither a carry-on nor a checked bag; Standard ($451) adds a carry-on and Flex ($531) a checked bag. If you travel with only a carry-on, Porter's Basic fare already covers it.
