Direct Flights from Calgary to Cabo San Lucas vs Connecting
Direct flights from Calgary to Cabo San Lucas are currently WestJet only in our data, and they save three hours or more over the best connection. A connection only makes sense on dates when the nonstop is expensive (many Saturdays, October, summer) and United's Denver routing is running at around $272 to $338.
| Option | Typical departure (Calgary) | Flying time | Lowest fare seen | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WestJet nonstop, winter (WS2282 / WS2284) | 9:30 or 11:15 a.m. | About 4 hours | $300 | |
| WestJet nonstop, summer (WS2280, weekends) | 11:40 a.m. | About 4 hours | $828 | |

| American via Dallas | Varies | Varies | About 7 hours or more | $389 |
| Alaska via Seattle | Varies | Varies | About 7 hours or more | $502 |
Schedules as listed in Nuitée's fare data for the dates we searched; departure times are Calgary local time. We don't list arrival times because some Cabo arrival times in the data were an hour off on winter dates, so confirm them when you book.
Two things to watch on connections. Many cheap itineraries in the data were long: the median one-stop via Vancouver took over 18 hours because of long layovers. And a US connection (Denver, Dallas, Seattle) means clearing US customs and security on the way. A connection through Vancouver or Edmonton stays in Canada until you land in Mexico.
Baggage by fare
WestJet's nonstop sells five fares on this route. The cheapest, Ultrabasic, includes neither a carry-on nor a checked bag; a checked bag was quoted at $82 extra. Econo adds a carry-on, Econoflex adds one checked bag (23 kg), and Premium adds two. On April 17, 2027 the ladder ran $316 Ultrabasic, $381 Econo, $460 Econoflex and $726 Premium. For a beach week with one checked bag, compare Econoflex against Ultrabasic plus the bag fee before you book.
