Seven boat tours to El Arco and Land's End compared side by side, from $15 shared rides and Lover's Beach drop-offs to a clear boat and a private charter, with the fees and dock details the listings leave out.
What You Should Know
- A Cabo arch boat tour is a 45 to 60 minute ride from Cabo San Lucas Marina to El Arco at Land's End, passing Pelican Rock, the sea lion colony and Lover's Beach.
- Boats leave every 30 to 60 minutes between 9 AM and 5 PM daily, depending on the operator, from different docks around the marina; finding the right gate is the most common problem in reviews.
- Shared rides cost $15 to $42 per person, and a private boat for up to six is $171.43. Some trips include all fees; on others guests pay a cash gate fee and tips.
- Most "glass bottom" boats on these rides have one or two small viewing panels, or none, rather than a clear hull; only the transparent clear boat shows the water under your whole seat.
Boat Tours to El Arco and Land's End
A Cabo arch boat tour is the only easy way to see El Arco up close: the rock arch sits at Land's End, the tip of the Baja Peninsula, and there is no road or trail to it. Our top pick is De Cabo A Cabo's one-hour Arch tour at about $19 (350 MXN), rated 4.9 from 391 reviews with all fees included; if you want time on the sand, Cabo Paradise Tours offers a Lover's Beach drop-off for $30 when beach conditions permit.
This guide compares seven Land's End boat tours side by side: quick shared rides, two that drop you at Lover's Beach, a fully transparent clear boat and a private boat for up to six. We cover which dock each one leaves from, which fees are paid in cash on the day, and what recent guests say about the boats themselves. If you want the clear and glass bottom boats compared in more depth, see our glass bottom boat guide; for a longer trip with snorkeling and lunch, see our Cabo snorkel cruise comparison.

Our take (finding the boat): The single most common complaint across these listings is the meeting point, not the ride. Guests describe being sent to the wrong dock, walking the marina asking other vendors, and in a few cases never finding the boat. We would ask the operator to confirm the exact gate by message the day before and arrive 20 minutes early.
Our take ("glass bottom" is a loose term): Guests on four of these boats were surprised that "glass bottom" meant one or two small panels in the floor, or none at all, rather than a see-through hull. If seeing the fish under you is what you are paying for, book the fully transparent clear boat instead.
Our take (photos at the Arch): Several boats carry a photographer who sells pictures afterward, and recent guests mention being offered photo packages at the end. You can say no politely; bring your own camera and ask the captain to hold position for a shot.
Best Boat Tours to the Arch in Cabo San Lucas
All seven routes are almost identical: out of the marina, past Pelican Rock and the sea lions, a photo stop at El Arco and back. What separates them is the boat, whether you get off at Lover's Beach, which fees are already included, and how easy the operator is to find on the dock. From what we've seen in reviews and operator details, the cheaper boats lose stars on logistics (the dock, the wait, the fees) rather than on the ride itself.
De Cabo A Cabo: Arch Tour by Glass Bottom Boat
A one-hour shared ride from IGY Marina Gate A that covers Pelican Rock, the sea lion colony, Lover's Beach, Divorce Beach and El Arco, at about $19 with life jackets and all fees included. It is rated 4.9 from 391 reviews, and departures run every half hour. The boat has glass viewing panels rather than a clear hull, and there is no restroom on board. We'd give it the edge over El Jefe's near-identical $19.20 ride because only about 2% of its ratings are 3 stars or lower, against about 6% for El Jefe, though El Jefe has the restroom.
Check availabilityEl Jefe Tours: Shared Tour to the Arch
The most-reviewed Arch boat here at 4.8 from 758 reviews, on a 30-ft boat with a restroom, music and a glass panel, at $19.20 with water and all fees included. Recent low ratings are mostly about finding the meeting point and one boat that had not been cleaned, so confirm the dock the day before.
Check availabilityCabo Paradise Tours: Arch Tour with Beach Drop-off
A 45-minute ride with live commentary, then a drop-off at Lover's Beach and a pickup when you are ready, for $30 with no dock fees. Lover's Beach closes when the surf is high, and then the drop-off is skipped. Reviews mention choppy rides more than on the other boats, and from December to April you can upgrade to whale watching. We'd only choose it if the beach matters to you: on a rough day you pay $11 more than the $19 rides for a drop-off that may not happen.
Check availabilityTheclearboat: Clearboat Tour to the Arch
A fully transparent boat, so you see the water and fish under your seat the whole way, rated 5.0 from 147 reviews. It is $42 for 45 minutes, with water and life jackets for all ages, and boarding means one large step down. This is the boat to choose if the see-through hull is the point.
Check availabilityEl Jefe Tours: Private Arch Boat
Your own 30-ft boat for up to six at $171.43 per boat ($28.57 each when full), with beer, soft drinks, water and a restroom on board, plus a Lover's Beach option when the port captain allows it. It leaves from Pier D next to Ruth's Chris. We see this as a good fit for families with small kids: there is a restroom, drinks are on board, and you never wait for other passengers to fill seats.
Check availabilityGlass Bottom Boat Tours: Shared Tour to the Arch
Rated 4.9 from 671 reviews, with departures every 30 minutes from 9:30 AM and a restroom on board, at about $37. Its 2026 complaints are about the dock: guests sent to Dock D and then redirected to Dock A, and a few no-shows. Call ahead to confirm the gate.
Check availabilityCabo Life Yachts: Boat Ride to El Arco and Lovers Beach
The cheapest ticket at about $15, with an optional beach stop and a ride back to the marina later, across up to 3 hours. Beyond the ride and beach stop, only life jackets are included. Recent reviews mention a cash gate fee at the boat ramp ($1, per one October 2026 guest), photos sold afterward at $10 to $20 each and people on the beach asking for tips, so bring small bills. We'd look elsewhere with small children, since the beach landing is the roughest part of the day in recent reviews.
Check availabilityWhat You See on a Land's End Boat Tour
Every Land's End boat tour follows the same coastline, and the captain slows or stops at each of these:
- Pelican Rock: the rock at the base of the Land's End cliffs, where pelicans perch and reef fish gather in the shallows.
- The sea lion colony: sea lions haul out on the rocks near the point and are there year-round.
- Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach: the twin beaches on either side of the point, one facing the calm Sea of Cortez and the other the open Pacific.
- El Arco: the arch at the very tip of the peninsula, where every boat stops for photos.
- Neptune's Finger and the Window of the Pacific: rock formations along the point that boats slow down to pass.
From December to April, humpback whales pass Land's End, and several winter reviews mention spotting them from these boats. For a trip built around the whales, our Cabo whale watching guide compares the dedicated boats.
Going Ashore at Lover's Beach
Lover's Beach (Playa del Amor) can only be reached by water, so a boat with a drop-off is the simplest way to spend time there. Cabo Paradise Tours, Cabo Life Yachts and El Jefe's private boat offer it; the other boats only pass by.
- It depends on the surf. When waves are high the beach closes, and the drop-off is skipped even if you paid for it.
- The landing is a wet one. Boats nose onto the sand and you climb off into the shallows. Recent reviews describe waist-deep water on rough days, so wear clothes that can get wet and keep phones in a dry bag.
- Expect helpers on the beach. Several guests describe people on the sand who help you off the boat, carry bags or sell canned drinks, and then ask for a tip.
- Swim on the Lover's Beach side only. Divorce Beach faces the open Pacific and has strong surf and currents.
- Agree on the pickup time. Your return slot is set by the boat, and late pickups come up in Lover's Beach reviews, so ask for the captain's number before you get off.
Water taxis from the marina and Medano Beach also shuttle people to Lover's Beach if you only want the beach.
How Much Does a Cabo Arch Boat Tour Cost?
A shared Cabo arch boat tour costs $15 to $42 per person for 45 minutes to an hour on the water, and a private boat for up to six costs $171.43. The cheapest rides are paid partly in cash on the day, while De Cabo A Cabo, El Jefe Tours and Cabo Paradise Tours include all fees and taxes.
This is where tours really differ: the cheapest ticket is not always the cheapest hour, because a cash gate fee, beach tips and a photo package can easily add more than the $4 gap between the $15 and $19 rides.
What You Pay Beyond the Ticket
| Option | Advertised price | Fees | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cabo Life Yachts | $15 | $1 cash gate fee reported in reviews | Tips on the beach; photos at $10 to $20 each; snorkel and umbrella rental charged extra |
| De Cabo A Cabo | $19 | All fees and taxes included | No water or restroom on board; photos sold after the ride |
| El Jefe Tours (shared) | $19.20 | All fees and taxes included | Confirm the dock; water included |
| Cabo Paradise Tours | $30 | No dock fees | Beach stop only when Lover's Beach is open; tips for the crew |
| Glass Bottom Boat Tours | $37 | Not stated in the listing | Confirm fees and the boarding gate before the day |
| Theclearboat | $42 | Not stated in the listing | Transparent hull and water included; large step to board |
| El Jefe Tours (private) | $171.43 per boat | All fees and taxes included | Drinks and restroom on board; Lover's Beach when conditions allow |
Is a Private Cabo Arch Boat Worth It?
El Jefe Tours prices its private boat at a flat $171.43 for one to six people, so the cost per person drops as your group grows:
| Group size | Cost per person | Compared with |
|---|---|---|
| 2 people | $85.72 | More than four times the $19 shared rides |
| 3 people | $57.14 | More than the $42 clear boat |
| 4 people | $42.86 | About the same as the $42 clear boat |
| 5 people | $34.29 | Less than the clear boat, about $15 more than the shared rides |
| 6 people | $28.57 | About $9.50 more than the $19 shared rides |
Calculated from the $171.43 per-boat price, which stays the same for one to six travelers. For a family or group of five or six, the private boat costs only a little more per person than a shared ride and adds drinks, a restroom, a Lover's Beach option and no waiting for other passengers.
De Cabo A Cabo ($19) and El Jefe Tours ($19.20) for a one-hour shared ride with fees included, or Cabo Life Yachts ($15) with a beach stop, a reported $1 cash gate fee and nothing else included.
Cabo Paradise Tours' Lover's Beach drop-off ($30), Glass Bottom Boat Tours with a restroom and half-hourly departures (about $37), and Theclearboat's fully transparent boat (about $42).
El Jefe Tours' private 30-ft boat for up to six, with drinks, a restroom and a Lover's Beach option; $28.57 each with a full boat.
We think the $19 rides with fees included are the easy choice for a first look, because the extra money on pricier boats buys a restroom, a clear hull or beach time rather than a longer route; pay for the clear boat only if seeing the water under you matters, and for Cabo Paradise Tours if you want beach time.
Best Time for a Boat Tour to the Arch
- Choppy days: rough, splashy rides are the most common weather complaint in these reviews, especially on the smaller boats. If the sea looks rough, a larger boat or a later date is the more comfortable choice.
- December to April: whale season, when humpbacks pass the point; Cabo Paradise Tours sells a whale-watching upgrade in these months.
- Stormy or windy days: the port captain can close the port, and every tour here refunds you in full if it is cancelled for weather. Lover's Beach drop-offs are the first thing to go when the surf picks up.
For the month-by-month picture, see our Cabo in January guide.
Arch Boat Tour Combos
If you want more than an hour on the water, two well-reviewed half-day tours bundle the Arch ride with a city tour and hotel transport: Cabo Adventures' Arch Cruise and Shopping Tour ($89, 4.9 from 134 reviews, with a glass-blowing demo and drinks) and Rancho Tours' Land's End Tour ($69, 4.7 from 127 reviews, with a tequila tasting). Both add the dock fee on the day.
For a longer day on the water, a snorkel cruise passes the Arch on the way to a snorkel bay with lunch and an open bar, and a sunset cruise covers the same coastline in the evening. See our best things to do in Cabo San Lucas for more.
Our Take
The pattern we keep seeing is that the captain's commentary, not the boat, decides whether guests rate these rides five stars: crews who stop close to the sea lions and explain each rock earn the same kind of praise on the $19 boats as on the $42 clear boat.
Tips for Your Cabo Arch Boat Tour
- Get the exact dock in writing: Cabo San Lucas Marina has many gates and piers, and operators use different ones. Save the operator's phone number and message them the day before.
- Bring small bills: Some boats charge a cash gate fee at the ramp, crews expect tips, and photos are sold afterward.
- Ignore offers on the walk in: Vendors along the marina sell their own boat rides. If you have a booking, go straight to your operator's dock.
- Cruise passengers, allow time: Cabo is a tender port. One guest found the walk from the tender dock to their boat took about 30 minutes, not the 5 to 10 they were told.
- Dress for spray: Small boats get splashed when the water is choppy, and the Lover's Beach landing is a wet one. Bring a dry bag for phones.
- Expect a short wait on shared boats: Some shared boats hold departure to fill seats, or loop back to the dock for more passengers before heading out, so do not book the ride right before a dinner reservation.
- Check mobility needs: Boarding a small boat or the clear boat means a big step, and one guest with hip trouble found it hard despite an accessible listing. The main tradeoff on the clear boat is exactly that step: you get the best view of the water, but the listing itself warns that boarding takes a large step.

How We Selected These Tours
The Cabo Tour Guides team started with five searches of the live tour catalog for the Arch and Land's End. They returned 60 Cabo listings, 29 of them boat tours to El Arco. We pulled the full listing and live schedule for the 14 strongest candidates and checked each one's review recency on October 30, 2026. We then read 417 guest reviews of the shortlisted tours: the 60 most recent for each, plus up to 15 of its lowest-rated reviews, chosen to surface problems that five-star reviews skip. We read a further 150 recent reviews of our top pick. Because meeting-point confusion and cash fees came up far more often than complaints about the ride itself, we noted every fee reported in reviews in the cost table, and we compared the share of 1 to 3 star ratings (about 2% for our pick, 6% for El Jefe's shared ride) rather than the headline average alone. We left out an $18 Lover's Beach tour rated 4.4 with a run of 2026 reviews describing no-shows, unannounced cancellations and unsafe beach landings; a Land's End sightseeing boat with no reviews since April 2025; a listing with only one review in the past year; and a second listing from our top pick's operator with the same route. Two city-tour combos are covered in the combos section rather than the table, and boats that are mainly glass-bottom or clear-boat rides are compared in our glass bottom boat guide. The final seven each cover something the others do not: the cheapest fees-included ride, a restroom on board, a Lover's Beach drop-off, a fully transparent hull or a private boat. We have not taken these tours ourselves; our judgments come from operator listing data and published guest reviews. Booking links are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. No operator paid to be included or for its position.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a boat tour to the Arch in Cabo?+
Shared boat tours to El Arco cost about $15 to $42 per person for 45 minutes to an hour, and a private boat for up to six costs $171.43. Several of the cheaper rides include all fees; others add a small cash gate fee, and crews expect tips.
How long is a Cabo arch boat tour?+
Most rides last 45 minutes to an hour from Cabo San Lucas Marina to Land's End and back, a length families with young kids and guests prone to seasickness say suits them well. Tours with a Lover's Beach drop-off run longer, up to 3 hours, because the boat returns to collect you.
Can you get off at Lover's Beach on an Arch boat tour?+
Only on tours that include a drop-off, such as Cabo Paradise Tours, Cabo Life Yachts or El Jefe Tours' private boat. The beach closes when the surf is high, and the landing means stepping off into shallow water, so expect to get wet.
Can you swim at Lover's Beach?+
Yes, on the Lover's Beach side, which faces the calmer Sea of Cortez. Do not swim at Divorce Beach on the Pacific side, where the surf and currents are strong. Lover's Beach is closed altogether on days with high waves.
Is a glass bottom boat the same as a clear boat in Cabo?+
No. Most glass bottom boats to the Arch have one or two small viewing panels in the floor, and several guests were disappointed by that. A clear boat has a fully transparent hull, so you see the water under you the whole way; Theclearboat is the one in this guide.
Can cruise ship passengers do an Arch boat tour?+
Yes. Cabo is a tender port and the marina is walkable from the tender dock, though one guest found it took about 30 minutes to reach their boat. Pick a departure that leaves at least two hours before your last tender, and confirm the dock in advance.
Can you see whales on an Arch boat tour?+
Sometimes, from December to April, when humpback whales pass Land's End. They are a bonus on a one-hour ride, not a promise. Cabo Paradise Tours sells a whale-watching upgrade in season, and our Cabo whale watching guide covers dedicated trips.
